habe auch schon von obskuren Problemen mit Farbkies gehört - erinnere aber keine Details. Sand ist sicher die bessere Wahl!

Ich stehe ja auf sehr dunklen Sand, hab mir da was (allerdings recht kostspieliges) geholt. Sieht grad unterm L46 sehr schön aus. Und angeblich fühlen sich Fische ja auf dunklem Boden besser.Ob das wirklich so ist? Who knows.

Wenn der Händler aber schon vor genau dem Kies, den Du da jetzt drin hast, warnt, würd ich mir schon Gedanken machen. Kann sein, dass er giftige Stoffe abgibt. Leider ist nicht alles, was beim Händler im Regal steht, bedenkenlos zu verwenden...

Wenn das Becken eh' ohne Besatz ist: warum nicht kurz noch mal den Boden austauschen! Sand hat gegenüber Kies viele Vorteile - es sammelt sich z.B. weniger 'Dreck' im Boden an, und die barteltragenden Kollegen können sanft gründeln.

Ein Trupp Turmdeckelschnecken pflügt den Boden von Nahrungsresten frei (die aber erst einsetzen, wenn der Nitrit-Peak vorbei ist).

Mach mal ruhig!

Aber dann das Aquarium schön lange einfahren lassen. 6 Wochen wären eine gute Zeit. Dann schwanken meist auch die Wasserwerte nicht mehr so wie am Anfang.
